Jump on a "beach cruising" bike and enjoy a leisurely scenic ride. Not everyone is a fan of cycling up-hill, and that's alright because the Lagos Classic Bike Tour is designed for comfort. Therefore, count on flat and descending small roads and bike paths all morning!

Description
You’ll be picked up from your lodging in Lagos and head to the starting point of this trip, located close to the famous Ponta da Piedade cliffs. Once briefed and fitted on bikes, you’ll be heading straight to the bike lane located along the cliffs overlooking the ocean, stopping to take in the ocean views by the local lighthouse. The bike tour will then take you from nature to the old town of Lagos.
Once there, you’ll learn about a medieval slave cemetery, and ride along its castle walls, exploring cobblestone streets, seeing Lagos main historical churches, a former slave trade market, and a fort from the Age of Discovery.
After taking in the history and stories, you’ll visit the oldest local market, where you’ll learn about the southern Portuguese food habits. For instance, how they relate to Portuguese history, and its connection across several cultures around the globe.
On the last leg of the ride, you’ll “roll” back to the center of the old town, ending the tour at the Volta do Mar office, where you’ll be provided a ride back to your lodging.
